We have been exploring the work of Max Ernst, an artist who combines painting and rubbings made from textures found in the natural environment to create works of art. We were inspired by the colour, line and texture found on autumn leaves to create our own batik artworks. We used cornflour to form a resist that prevented the dyes in paint from staining the fabric in certain places. When it was dry we washed the paint and cornflour off to reveal our designs. What do you think of our vibrant textiles?
