On Thursday 19th July, class 4 travelled to Darlington to visit a gypsy campsite. Here, they were welcomed by Billy Welch, a gypsy representative, who told the children all about gypsy life. During their visit, they saw a traditional gypsy caravan and cart. This was then compared with a modern-day gypsy caravan, kitchen and bathroom.

On Friday 6th July children from Year 5 and Mrs Boustead attended an LGBT Showcase in Chester-le-Street. 11 schools across County Durham took part in promoting exciting and inspiring performances promoting LGBT. At this Showcase our children delivered an inspirational power-point promoting the Education and Celebrate programme, encouraging neighbouring schools to join and start their LGBT journey. A big thank you to all the children who helped make this event a success.
Please take a look at the power-point we presented.
