Christingle
This unique Christmas service was held at St Mary’s Church on Wednesday 19th December at 2pm and was open to everyone. A huge thank you to all that attended and to everyone who made this service special.
Christingle is a tradition that has been taking place almost half a century and involves lighting a candle in a decorated orange which symbolises different aspects of the Christian story. Christingle is an opportunity for people of all ages to join in, light a candle and enjoy the warmth and vibrancy of this special festive occasion.
We would like to say a big thank you to St Mary’s Church, we all enjoyed our Christingle celebration.

Year 5 went along to Trimmers in Bishop Auckland to attend the advent window opening event. The window showcases the artwork the children have been making this term for the Little Matchstick Girl theme of our window. As well as showcasing our artwork the children also got to perform Silent Night and Mrs Unwin’s clarinet group performed as well. The event was well attended and our window was unveiled by a Danish national. We thoroughly enjoyed listening to the story being performed by local story-teller, Andrew Charles.
