Our active uniform policy is working really well and the children are loving the fact that they can get outdoors at any time and move more without having to get changed or worry about scuffing their shoes. We have had a few questions about PE kit for our older children and after discussions with Mrs Woods we’ve decided that it would be helpful if the children in Class 4 had an extra t shirt and possibly a pair of shorts or joggers in school permanently in case they need to change. It’s possible that they could get dirty outside or very sweaty and we wouldn’t want them to be uncomfortable after PE. The children can do PE in the clothes that they are wearing and won’t need to change but the spare kit would give them a back up if they slip or get dirty outside. Apologies for the confusion, we’re just getting used to our new rules and are learning as we go. Please don’t buy anything expensive or special as it could spend a long time hanging in the porch, just something for them to change into if necessary. PE day is Thursday but they don’t need anything for today.
Any questions or concerns please let us know, as with everything we really value your feedback.
As you will be aware, your child in year 6 is due to transfer to secondary school in September next year. The application process will open on 6 September 2021. You will need to read the Parent’s Guide “Primary and Secondary School Admission Guide in County Durham 2022/23”, as it contains essential information that will help you in making your child’s application. The guide is available on our website www.durham.gov.uk/schooladmissions

We are delighted to be able to resume our proper clubs for the Autumn Term, this includes our very popular football with AJ Sports and Miss Racher’s dance club on Tuesdays.
Please click on the below link to see the full timetable.
We will need to continue to follow our COVID guidelines in order to keep everyone safe and have therefore set a cap on numbers which does mean that clubs need to be booked in advance.
Most clubs can be paid for on a weekly basis but for football, dance and cookery we are asking for payment in advance to reserve your child’s place. The cost for these is £2.50 per session and we would require £15.00 in advance for both these clubs paid via ParentPay to guarantee a place for your child.
Wraparound will continue until 5.15pm every evening and the costs remain the same. The advanced booking system enables us to make sure that the clubs are staffed safely in a way that we can maintain our COVID safety.
Please complete the online form (the link will be sent via text as well) to register your interest for a place.
Thank you for your help and support with this.
We hope everyone is having a lovely summer and can’t wait to see you all back at school on Thursday 2nd September. We are pleased to say that lots of the COVID restrictions have been lifted for schools and the bubbles have gone unless we have an outbreak in school. Please read the return to school plan for details of times etc and some reminders and useful things to know for the start of term. Next week we will also publish our contingency plan which will explain what we will do if we have confirmed COVID cases in school and how the new guidelines will work for us.
Please note as with everything at the moment, these arrangements could be subject to change depending on guidance and how things develop once we are back in school. We felt it was important to get the information out to you once the decisions were made so that you can plan ahead.
If you have any questions or worries then please email email@example.com and we’ll get back to you next week before the return to school or sooner if it is an urgent enquiry.
Enjoy the rest of the holidays, we’re really looking forward to having the children back in school next Thursday.
