Class 2

Welcome to Class 2

Our Class Teacher is Mrs Kipling.

Children in Class 2 are in Year 1 and Year 2.

They are accessing more formal learning than in Class1 however their learning is also practical and involves plenty of movement and exploration to embed their learning.

This week Class 2 have been learning all about the Great Fire of London in English.

Today they wrote some absolutely wonderful Acrostic poems so I wanted to share some with you.

Please have a read, they really are super and Iโ€™m so proud of them!

Well done everyone!

Arts and crafts offer many health benefits to young children including the development of motor and coordination skills, boosting self-esteem, serving as a stress outlet, and improving visual learning practices, as well as memory and language skills.

Personalising crafting projects is also crucial as it offers children a channel to express themselves, to create something unique on their own, and to have fun creatively. This practice will help children develop a sense of self-worth; it will make them feel good knowing that they are able to do things that can be credited to them. As teachers and parents, we can personalise arts and crafts projects by adding a tag or a label the child’s name attached or on it.

Blueย enhances creativity and stimulates a cool and relaxing environment. It should not be used in excess as it can also depress or invoke feelings of sorrow.
Redโ€“ Red is the colour of passion and strong feelings of threat, love, or excess stimulus. In school rooms
it can be used in combination with other colours as it can help in detail oriented or repetitive tasks.
Yellowโ€“ This is indeed the colour of happiness and sunshine for children. Yellow stimulates intelligence and is ideal for use in children’s rooms, study rooms and play areas. It should not be overdone as it can make children feel stressed.
Green-The colour of abundance can relax and contribute to better health in children.
Pink-This is a calming colour. It can lower heart rate.
Purple-This colour ideal for children as it is attention grabbing.
Orangeโ€“ Many educational institutes use this colour as it enhances critical thinking and memory. Test rooms in this colour are known to enhance performance in exams.

Class 2 went for a Autumn Walkย  to have a look at nature.

25/09/20

In SMSC this week we talked about who is really important in our lives. The children were great at discussing the people who are special to them and really enjoyed drawing their pictures! ๐Ÿ˜Š

September 2020

12.09.20

In Spanish we revisited our numbers to 10.

We also practised asking and telling each other our names.

The children all really enjoyed learning Spanish again! ๐Ÿ˜Š

11.9.20

In Class 2 we talked about our feelings and met the mood monsters! They are funny little creatures who change colour depending on how they are feeling.

We talked lots about different ways we can feel and what to do if we are feeling sad or worried.

The children then designed their own mood monster which they really enjoyed! ๐Ÿ˜Š
