Cockfield Primary School and St Mary’s Church invited the local community to help celebrate this year’s Christingle service.
This unique Christmas service was held at St Mary’s Church on Wednesday 20th December at 2pm and was open to everyone. A huge thank you to all that attended and to everyone who made this service special.
The children enjoyed making their Christingles. Christingle is a tradition that has been taking place almost half a century and involves lighting a candle in a decorated orange which symbolises different aspects of the Christian story. Christingle is an opportunity for people of all ages to join in, light a candle and enjoy the warmth and vibrancy of this special festive occasion.
We would like to say a big thank you to Susan Rigg from St Mary’s Church who said, “We’re delighted to see the children, it’s always a lovely service.”
We all really enjoyed our Christingle celebration this year, the children enjoy this annual event.
