Children should wear their school uniform as we will be representing the school. They don’t need to bring anything as we’ll provide them with a bag of sweets and a drink. When we return to school those on school dinners will have a packed lunch. Children will be picked up from school at the usual time at the end of the day. All of this will come home in a letter tomorrow, but I’ve popped it on here to give some advance notice. We’re all looking forward to it and I’m sure it will be a lovely experience for the children.

Swankie Sports October Half Term Fun
World Mental Health Day #HelloYellow
Today 10th October 2022, Cockfield Primary took part in #HelloYellow to support World Mental Health Day.
The number of young people in need of mental health support is growing faster than ever – nearly half a million young people are being referred for mental health problems every month. Most young people aren’t getting the help they need, and this can’t go on.
That’s why this year #HelloYellow is more important than ever. We need to make sure young people know that how they feel matters and they deserve to feel supported. We couldn’t not get involved.
We have joined thousands of other schools by wearing yellow to school and taking part in activities based around mental health to show young people that how they feel matters.
We’re confident that taking part in #HelloYellow will show our young people that they’re not alone with their mental health. Together, we can create a brighter future for children and young people.
Flu Nasal Spray : Closing date 30th September
The flu vaccine will be offered to all primary school children from reception to year 6, and up to year 11 in children attending a special education needs provision, this year. Nasal flu vaccination is delivered in school. There are some occasions where an injection is the most appropriate route for vaccination for some children. The consent form that the link below takes you to is for Nasal Flu, if you select NO, you will be asked a series of questions to establish if your child is eligible for an injection.
Please copy the link below to give consent. If you do not want your child to receive the vaccine then you can select the ‘NO’ option on the consent form. If you would prefer a paper copy please let the Office know.

After you have finished, if you change your mind or need to tell us about changes to your child’s medical history, do not complete another consent form. Please visit www.hdftsais.co.uk/Contact to contact the immunisation team and tell us about any changes.
For further information about the flu vaccine please access Flu vaccination in schools – GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)
