Cockfield Light Committee organised Tea for the Elderly on Monday 11th December which was hosted by our school. Before tea the children performed their Christmas Concerts for all those that attended.

The Christmas Fair on Thursday 7th December was a great success. The Children raised £195.78 on their Glass Stall, Ice Cream Stall, Candle Stall and Bric a Brac Stall.

The Emerald House Group has chosen Butterwick Hospice for their charity this year. They have organised 3 fund raising events over the next few weeks. They will have a Bric a Brac stall at the Christmas Fair on Thursday 7th December at 6pm, the Reindeer Run on Friday 15th December and a sponsored silence in January. Masks for the Reindeer Run will be £2 per child, we look forward to your support.

Advent Windows
We have been asked to be part of the Bishop Auckland Advent Window Project. Children from Y5 have been making ‘Away in a Manger’ to put into Trimmers Hairdressers window. The window will be opened on Monday 18th December. The Y5 children will sing ‘Away in a Manger’ outside the shop window. Parents/Carers of Y5 children are welcome to meet us at Trimmers for 11am on the 18th to take part in the opening ceremony.

Children in Need
Thank you for all the donations to Children in Need, Cockfield Primary School raised a fabulous total on £135. All the children were excited to see Pudsey in school on Thursday and on Friday the children donated a £1 to come into school in bright, colourful clothes. The children took part in many activities during the day.

A successful EYFS Cluster Meeting was held in school on Wednesday 8th November, thank you to Stanley Crook, Evenwood, Ox Close and Staindrop for attending. The next meeting will be held in school on Wednesday 14th March 2018.
