Class 3 hosted their first ever Indian Celebration on the 27th June 2019. Parents and carers were invited to come into school to celebrate our topic this term! We informed parents about what we have been learning about and showed them our Indian dance. After this, we got to take part in Indian arts and crafts where we could design the Taj-Mahal and use sponges to create different prints, make an Indian Elephant or make our own Tiger Child. We had a fantastic afternoon and we even tried some tasty Indian food! Thank you to all parents and carers who came to our Indian Celebration!

Thank you very much to all of the parents who attended our coffee morning and to those who have made donations.

The children have been making the most of the sunshine this lunchtime. It was lovely to watch the older children organise games on the yard and play with all age groups. What fantastic children we have at Cockfield!

On Tuesday 11th June Class 4 had a visit from Bernie and Louise from a Hedgehog Charity in Durham. They brought along an adult hedgehog and a baby hedgehog. We learnt all about how to look after hedgehogs in need and what we can do in future to help them, for example, not dropping litter. All of Class 4 then got the opportunity to stroke the older hedgehog, Blaze, who was very friendly and curious. Blaze only has three legs after he was injured. All of the information we learnt today will help us with our Make a Difference Challenge, where we are encouraging people to help hedgehogs as the numbers are in decline.
